«Bringing new designs to craftmans was challenging, when I worked on a new collection of lampshades for Weaving for Change. My main task, as a design assistant, was to translate the concept we designed to make the artisans feel more confident about it, but without the possibility to talk in direct. That is why with my assistant in Ouagadougou, we had to manage a training where I was training a team of 8 weavers, for 2 months in November/ December 2019. We had a translator with us everyday and we created very detailed technical sheets and paper model or wooden lampshades to accompany the weavers in the weaving process.» MORE INFO : www.aaksonline.com/news/aaks-in-ouagadougou
